The Varitronics ® Poster Printer is  a direct thermal printer single color system that uses a built in scanner to enlarge small documents into presentation materials.  There are no ink or toner  cartridges to constantly replace.  Instead, paper rolls are chemically coated which react to the three thermal print heads.  These print heads heat up and cool down.  As the heads heat up, the coated paper reacts and images in various colors; blue, black, etc.   You can utilize the Poster Printer's full potential by using background colors to enhance your posters or banners such as our neon green or neon blue.  Since all papers are designed to be reversed, instead of just a black image on a red background, you can easily create a poster with a black background and red lettering.
